If you are traveling from Virginia, you will be coming in from Hwy 168 (which changes to Hwy 158 in Barco and carries down to the OBX). If you're hungry and need a break from the car, stop in at Coinjock Marina to grab a bite and watch the boats come in on the Intracoastal Waterway. You've got about 30 minutes to go before you hit the OBX.
This is a Virginia Beach based restaurant that has expanded to Grandy. Definitely worth a stop in. When all the other beach restaurants are packed, take a 20 minute drive to Grandy and grab a bite.
Been around since the 80's and now offering concerts at their outdoor pavilion, Morris Farm Market is not to be missed when needing fresh fruits and veggies for your trip.
Inside Kevin's Store, you'll find Cindy's Kitchen. Yes, it's also a gas station, but inside you'll find this hidden gem bakery. Selling delicious cakes and pies, (you must try their 12 layer chocolate cake), Cindy's Kitchen truly is a hidden gem for you sweets lovers.

If you are coming in through Elizabeth City and traveling with kids- you must stop here and let the kids run around for 30 minutes. It's got a soft rubber tire floor, lots of structures to climb and swing on, big fields to let the kids run their energy out, as well as bathrooms and a covered pavilion.
